Deion Sanders clears air regarding NFL landing spots for Shilo, Shedeur

With the Colorado Buffaloes' season officially over after a lopsided loss to BYU in the Alamo Bowl, head coach Deion Sanders is turning his attention to squashing some of the rumors floating around regarding potential NFL landing spots for his sons, Shedeur and Shilo.

Deion has already been very vocal about Shedeur's status in the upcoming NFL Draft, proclaiming that his son (and the Colorado quarterback) is "going to be the No. 1 pick." However, which team has that top pick is up in the air after the New England Patriots moved into the No. 1 overall spot after losing on Saturday to the Los Angeles Chargers and the New York Giants (the team that formerly held the top spot) stunned the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.

The Patriots selected Drake Maye with the third overall pick in the 2024 draft, and he has taken the majority of snaps under center in New England this season. With that in mind, if New England has the top overall pick, could the Patriots choose Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter (another Colorado difference-maker) rather than Sanders?

While there is still a week left in the NFL regular season and plenty of time for the final draft order to be established, Deion Sanders took to social media on Monday to make sure he was staying ahead of any rumors floating around regarding the upcoming draft.

The tweet from Deion Sanders comes not long after a post on social media declared that Shedeur Sanders "has no interest" in playing for the Tennessee Titans or Cleveland Browns, a pair of teams that will end up with high draft picks.

Whether that was the post that caught Coach Prime's eye or not is unclear. However, the Colorado coach is making sure that people understand he not only will provide the information to the right contacts at the right time but also is watching to see what is being said about NFL landing spots on social media.

Deion Sanders proved again on Monday that not only can he make a statement that will draw attention, but he can also name-drop as well as anyone, reminding people that he does know NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell "personally."

With the 2025 NFL Draft beginning on April 24, expect the rumors to continue to fly about Shedeur and Shilo Sanders, as well as Hunter. With that, also expect Deion Sanders to have plenty to say on the subject as well.
