Watch: Elliot Cadeau's four-point play seals win for North Carolina over Notre Dame

In what has been a subpar season for North Carolina basketball, sophomore guard Elliot Cadeau may have given the Tar Heels the spark they needed to turn the season around.

With under five seconds left and North Carolina trailing by three points, Cadeau knocked down a three-pointer and was fouled on the play. He sunk the free throw, and North Carolina escaped South Bend with a 74-73 win over Notre Dame on Saturday.

Cadeau scored 10 points in the game, including six in the final 22 seconds, marking the last six points North Carolina scored.

Cadeau averages 10.7 points per game, an improvement from his 7.3 points per game last season as a freshman.

The trio of Cadeau, senior point guard RJ Davis and freshman guard Ian Jackson will need to contribute heavily for North Carolina if it has any chance of getting going in ACC play and giving itself a chance to get into the NCAA Tournament.
