It has been a brutal season for quarterback Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets. Things reached a new low point in Week 17 when Rodgers had one of the worst performances in the NFL over the past five years, got benched and watched as his team was blown out by the Buffalo Bills, 40-14.
It was also a performance that cost Rodgers more than $11K in salary.
The NFL fined Rodgers $11,255 this week for a late hit and unnecessary roughness following one of his two interceptions in Sunday's game.

It was that kind of day for Rodgers. It has also been that kind of season for him and the Jets.
The Jets enter Week 18 against the Miami Dolphins with a 4-12 record, significantly worse than what they had a year ago when Rodgers missed all but four plays of the season.
His future with the team — and in the NFL — remains in doubt beyond this season. Given the way this season went with the on-field play, the distractions and all of the disappointment, it would probably be in everybody's best interest to get a fresh start.
The Jets have already put the pieces in motion for that with a search for a new general manager and head coach.
