Tennessee has always been an option for wide receiver Amari Jefferson.
He spent his freshman season at Alabama — where he took a redshirt after not getting any playing time — but from Chattanooga, Tennessee, the Volunteers have apparently always been on his mind.
In fact, Jefferson was also a stellar baseball prospect, and he had been committed to Tennessee's baseball program before ultimately choosing to sign (in baseball and football) with the Crimson Tide in the winter of 2023.
It's all coming full circle for Jefferson now, though. He entered the transfer portal on Jan. 2, and less than a week later, he's the newest member of Josh Heupel's Tennessee football program.

This is a big win for Tennessee because Jefferson does have a ton of untapped potential, and he'll now have four years of eligibility on Rocky Top to explore it. He's a former four-star recruit, ranked as the No. 33 wideout in the 2024 class, according to 247Sports.
Georgia was another team in the running for his commitment as a recruit, and the Bulldogs were also after him in the transfer portal, but the Volunteers won out on this big-time transfer commitment.
