The Philadelphia 76ers had high hopes for rookie guard Jared McCain heading into this season and their faith in him was proven to be a smart move early on.
McCain was selected by the 76ers with the 16th pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, and he averaged an impressive 15.3 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.6 assists over the first 23 games of his rookie season.
Unfortunately, he had to undergo surgery on his left knee in December because of a torn meniscus, and now the 76ers are reporting that he won't be able to make it back to return for the end of his rookie campaign.
Jared McCain will miss the remainder of the 2024-25 season after undergoing meniscus surgery on his knee, 76ers announced.

This is a huge blow for Philly and McCain because he showed so much promise so quickly. He was the Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month for November but started dealing with knee soreness shortly after on Dec. 13 after a game.
McCain played one season at Duke in college, where he averaged 14.3 points and five rebounds per game for the Blue Devils.
