Cubs defeat Pirates with an impressive night at the plate

Headed into Tuesday's night game in Pittsburgh against the Pirates, the Chicago Cubs had won four straight games at PNC Park.

That streak improved to five straight games with their 9-0 win on Tuesday.

Chicago had eight extra-base hits, four home runs and every player in the starting lineup recorded a hit. Of all those stats, that wasn't the most impressive of the night.

The Cubs did not have a single strikeout while batting, the first time that's happened in the major leagues this season and first time since coincidentally, April 29 of last season when the Los Angeles Dodgers did it.

It was only the 14th time in the last 10 seasons that a team had done it in a game. Even more impressive, Chicago did it against left-hander Andrew Heaney who had a SO9 rate of 8.9 prior to the game.
