Watch: Commanders QB Jayden Daniels displays elite touch on 38-yard pass

Throughout the season, Washington Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels has displayed skill and maturity well beyond his years.

On 2nd-and-8 late in the second quarter of Saturday's road divisional-round game against the Detroit Lions, Daniels completed a 38-yard pass to wide receiver Dyami Brown. Another angle of the play showcased Daniels' impressive accuracy on the pass.

Three plays later, Daniels threw a five-yard touchdown pass to tight end Zach Ertz, giving the Commanders a 31-21 lead before halftime.

Daniels' precision is one of the key reasons he's having one of the best rookie seasons in recent memory.

Per Pro Football Reference, the 2024 No. 2 overall pick completed 69% of his passes in 17 regular-season games, sixth among 43 eligible quarterbacks. He also tied for 10th in touchdown passes (25) and ranked fourth in QBR (70.5).

Unsurprisingly, Daniels is a favorite for Offensive Rookie of the Year. In a recent survey by NFL Media's Tom Pelissero, the 24-year-old was named OROY.
