Lamar Jackson vents frustrations after Ravens' latest playoff heartbreak

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson may officially become a three-time regular-season Most Valuable Player Award winner next month, but he fell to 3-5 as a postseason starter via Baltimore's 27-25 divisional-round loss at the Buffalo Bills on Sunday evening.

Following the defeat, Jackson spoke openly about his latest playoff heartbreak.

"Every time we in situations like this, turnovers play a factor," Jackson acknowledged, as shared by Jamison Hensley of ESPN. "We can't have that s—, and that's why we lost the game. As you can see, we're moving the ball wonderfully ... it's hold on to the [expletive] ball. I'm sorry for my language. This s— is annoying. I'm tired of this s—."

Before the start of the ongoing postseason tournament, Jackson admitted he had been "too excited" and "too antsy" in previous playoff games. On Sunday, he tossed an awful interception on a ball that never should've been thrown in the first quarter of the Buffalo contest. In the second quarter, he committed a costly fumble that resulted in the Bills scoring a touchdown.

To his credit, Jackson drove his offense down the field for a late scoring drive capped off by a 24-yard touchdown pass thrown to tight end Isaiah Likely with 1:33 remaining in regulation. However, Baltimore tight end Mark Andrews dropped what would've been a game-tying two-point conversion before the Bills ultimately ran the clock out.

Across the first eight playoff starts of Jackson's career, he recorded 10 touchdown passes and three scores on the ground. He also tallied seven interceptions and four lost fumbles over those contests. Thus far, he has one AFC Championship Game appearance and zero Super Bowl trips on what many already believe is a Hall of Fame resume.

"I have to get over this because we're right there," Jackson said about a Ravens team that finished this past regular season atop the AFC North standings at 12-5. "I'm tired of being right there. We need to punch it in. We need to punch in that ticket. We have to get right in the offseason."

Jackson understandably may spend some time wondering what could have been for this Ravens team had he not turned the ball over twice at Highmark Stadium. Regardless of what defenders of Jackson may say, questions about whether or not he will ever win the biggest games on the biggest stages with Baltimore will once again hover over the Ravens through an offseason.
