With less than 30 seconds to go in the first half of the College Football Playoff National Championship game, Ohio State had to have felt like it drove the dagger into the proverbial heart of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
Getting a field goal before the end of the half and then getting the ball back at the start of the second half is a popular way of "doubling up" for good offensive teams, but Ryan Day's Buckeyes weren't satisfied with just a field goal.
Already up 14-7 and driving with the second quarter clock ticking down, the Buckeyes methodically made their way into the red zone and then super senior quarterback Will Howard found running back Quinshon Judkins wide open in the end zone to cap off a 12-play, 80-yard drive with a touchdown that extended OSU's lead to 21-7 heading into the half.

That was Judkins' second touchdown of the game. Earlier in the second quarter, he ran in a nine-yard touchdown.
