No. 7 Texas women stay undefeated at home after holding off No. 17 Tennessee

This was a thriller of a game between two SEC teams inside the top 20. The largest lead for either team was a six-point lead by Tennessee.

Tennessee lost its second straight game and its fourth in the last six games. It is the Volunteers' third straight loss against a ranked team. 

It doesn't get any easier, as its next game will be against No. 2 South Carolina.

For Texas, Madison Booker and Taylor Jones carried the load, scoring 47 of the Longhorns 80 points. Jones finished with a 21 point and 14 rebound double-double. Booker scored 26 points and added six rebounds.

Jordan Lee scored 10 points off the bench and hit the only Texas three-pointer of the game.

Ruby Whitehorn led the Volunteers with 21 points. It was her second time in three games with 20+ points.

Zee Spearman was the only other Tennessee player in double figures, finishing with 14 points off the bench.

A highly talked about conference game lived up to the expectations and these are two teams we will certainly see make deep runs into the postseason in March.
