North Carolina got off the losing skid this past weekend and that's ultimately all that going to matter, for now.
The Tar Heels beat Boston College, 102-96, to improve their record to 13-8 on the season (6-3 ACC).
Stopping that losing streak at two rather than seeing it slide to three was big for North Carolina, but it didn't come easy. Boston College took the Tar Heels to overtime before RJ Davis' seven overtime points lifted them to the win.
UNC got it done, but head coach Hubert Davis wants to see the urgency to win much earlier in games moving forward.
"This group has always found it. I think they’ve found it, when they have needed it," Davis said in the postgame regarding his team's motivation to win (h/t On3). "It’s needed at the jump ball. That’s something that’s just going to have to change.”
To Davis' point, it's not going to get any easier. The Tar Heels have two games against Pitt coming up next but scheduled between those is an away matchup with Duke.
The Blue Devils are currently ranked No. 2 in the nation and you know they're going to be amped to play UNC and make a statement in this classic rivalry game.
