As the Vancouver Canucks consider their options on the trade market, a trio of new teams have entered the mix to land Swedish star Elias Pettersson.

The Vancouver Canucks will have a difficult decision to make in the coming weeks on the trade market as teams like the Buffalo Sabres have shown a lot of interest in him.

Three new teams enter the mix to acquire Elias Pettersson

Amid their inconsistent season, the Vancouver Canucks have explored the trade market for both J.T. Miller and Elias Pettersson, with the latter being linked to teams such as Buffalo (as mentioned above), Carolina and Ottawa.

As the trade deadline draws closer, Patrik Allvin and the Canucks' management group will almost certainly receive more interest in Elias Pettersson, and it looks like three new teams have entered the mix.

According to The Fourth Period, the Dallas Stars, Detroit Red Wings and Minnesota Wild join the Buffalo Sabres, Carolina Hurricanes and Ottawa Senators as teams interested in Elias Pettersson.

"Trade talks involving Miller and Pettersson have escalated at different times over the last two weeks. Pettersson has expressed his desire to stay in Vancouver, but the Canucks remain engaged in talks, while TFP's David Pagnotta has reported Miller is open to waiving his NMC to multiple teams. Canucks management insist they won't rush a decision on either player, but it sure seems like one will be moved by the deadline.

"Teams Reportedly Linked, Pettersson: Buffalo, Carolina, Detroit, Minnesota, Dallas, Ottawa."

Pettersson, 26, has seven years remaining on his contract following the 2024-25 season with a cap hit of $11.6 million annually, which won't be easy for teams to take on.

In 43 games this season, the Sundsvall, Sweden native has registered 31 points (11 goals, 20 assists), 12 penalty minutes and is a minus-five.

In wake of the rift between J.T. Miller and Elias Pettersson, it looks like we're getting closer and closer to one of them, or both, being traded out of Vancouver.
