It seems to be only a matter of time before Vancouver Canucks star player Elias Pettersson is traded. After the major deal announced Friday involving Mikko Rantanen, all signs point to Pettersson being the next star player on the move.
He is clearly an intriguing player for Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens, but at what cost?
In the latest episode of the podcast "Processus," Mathias Brunet and Simon Boisvert shared their thoughts on the matter.
According to credible information, the Canucks are reportedly asking for Dylan Cozens and Bowen Byram from the Sabres in exchange for Pettersson.
Thus, Boisvert concluded that Kent Hughes would need to offer Nick Suzuki and Kaiden Guhle to acquire Elias Pettersson.
"The Snake thinks Elias Pettersson would cost Nick Suzuki and Kaiden Guhle to the Canadiens."
Would names like Logan Mailloux and Kirby Dach interest the Canucks? It they want Suzuki in the deal, a deal is unlikely.
Elias Pettersson, 26 years old, is one of the world's top players.
He has 31 points in 43 games this season after scoring 89 and 102 points in the past two campaigns.
His annual salary is $11.6 million per year, and he is signed through 2032.
Do you believe the Montreal Canadiens should really try to acquire him?
