Eagles WR could join illustrious list with Super Bowl LIX victory

Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans will pit the NFL's best talent against one another for the opportunity to be crowned champions of the world.

However, there are only a select few over the last 60 years who can claim to have dominated in professional football and college. Specifically, only four individuals have won a Super Bowl, a college national championship and the Heisman Trophy.

That list includes three Pro Football Hall of Famers and arguably the best running back in college football history.

On Feb. 9, that list could grow to five players all-time if the Philadelphia Eagles are triumphant over the Kansas City Chiefs in the Big Easy.

Wide receiver DeVonta Smith won two College Football Playoff National Championships at Alabama (2017 and 2020) as well as the Heisman Trophy in 2020.

He would join Marcus Allen, Tony Dorsett, Charles Woodson and Reggie Bush on that illustrious list and the first player since 2008-09 to accomplish the feat. He would also be just the second player ever to win multiple college national titles, the Heisman Trophy and a Super Bowl (Bush).

Smith came close to inclusion once before when Philadelphia came up short against the Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII just two years ago.

He'll be hoping to contribute to his team's revenge this year in the rematch and etch his name into football immortality.
