Watch: Marc-Andre Fleury gets standing ovation, shutout in final Montreal appearance

Marc-Andre Fleury's farewell tour around the NHL continued on Thursday night with him making his final appearance in Montreal. It ended up being a memorable evening for him.

Fleury stopped all 19 shots he faced in a 4-0 Minnesota Wild win to record his first shutout of the season, while also getting a standing ovation from the Canadiens fans in the middle of the third period.

Here are the final seconds of his shutout performance:

Fleury, of course, never actually played for the Canadiens in his career, but is from nearby Sorel, Quebec, and has always been extremely fond of playing in Montreal. So it is not a surprise that the Canadiens fans, always a knowledgeable bunch and appreciative of local players, were so willing to give him such an ovation.

He has been one of the most beloved players in the league, and especially in all of the cities he has played in throughout his career. He is expected to retire after the 2024-25 NHL season.

Fleury has put together a Hall of Fame resume that includes three Stanley Cup rings, five Stanley Cup Finals appearances, a Vezina Trophy and is second on the NHL's all-time wins list.
