Top 10 transfer QBs for 2025 college football season

The transfer portal is now a part of college football student-athletes’ everyday lives. The sweepstakes from the December transfer window is over, and these gunslingers should make their new teams better on the field and their bank accounts flush with cash.

Carson Beck, Miami Hurricanes (from Georgia)

Carson Beck has taken his quarterback skills to South Beach to play for Mario Cristobal and the Miami Hurricanes. Last season at Georgia, Beck passed for 3,485 yards, 28 touchdowns and 12 INTs. Bruce Feldman of The Athletic posted on X that Beck will earn just north of $3 million for his services.

Beck’s move to Miami puts him in the arms of his girlfriend Hanna Cavinder, a basketball player for the Lady Hurricanes.

John Mateer, Oklahoma Sooners (from Washington State)

The Oklahoma Sooners have moved on from Jackson Arnold and welcome John Mateer to Norman. As a first-year starter under center last season at Washington State, Mateer threw for 3,139 yards, 29 touchdowns and just seven INTs. In addition, he added 826 yards on the ground and 15 scores.

Fernando Mendoza, Indiana Hoosiers (from Cal)

A 3,000-yard passer in 2024, Fernando Mendoza led the Golden Bears into year one in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Mendoza passed for 16 touchdowns against only six INTs and completed 69 percent of his passes in 2024.
