Watch: J.T. Miller scores goal in first game back with Rangers

It didn't take J.T. Miller long to start making an impact in his return to the New York Rangers.

Miller scored his first goal since being re-acquired by the team just 11 minutes into the first period of Saturday's game against the Boston Bruins.

The Rangers just acquired Miller later Friday night in a blockbuster trade with the Vancouver Canucks, sending Filip Chytil, Victor Mancini and a 2025 first-round draft pick the other way.

It ended a months-long saga in Vancouver as the Canucks dealt with a major rift between star players Miller and Elias Pettersson. It was inevitable that one of them was going to get dealt, and it ended up being Miller.

Miller spent the first six-and-a-half years of his career with the Rangers between the 2012-13 and 2017-18 seasons before being traded away as part of the team's rebuild. Now he is back in New York in an effort to help salvage a season that has quickly gotten away from the Rangers and has seen their quest to win a Stanley Cup hit a series of bumps in the road. Whether or not Miller is able to fix all of the Rangers' problems remains to be seen.

He is still a good two-way player and topped the 100-point mark (with 103) a year ago. The concern is that he is another big-money player for the Rangers on the wrong side of 30 and has not been having a great season through the first half.
