Just a few laps into Saturday's Cook Out Clash heat races at Bowman Gray Stadium, tempers are already flaring.
Over the years, Bowman Gray has earned the moniker of "The Madhouse." The 0.25-mile venue has long been the sight of revenge, fistfights and incidents that captivate race fans.
The NASCAR Cup Series hasn't raced at the facility since 1971, but the stars of the series are already proving why the track has earned a chaotic reputation.
Noah Gragson, Justin Haley and Kyle Busch were the instigators early in the first heat race. After Gragson and Haley pinballed off of each other going down the front stretch, Haley hit an innocent bystander in Busch, sending Busch's Camaro spinning into the infield grass.

Busch was understandably upset and hit Haley's car multiple times under caution. That behavior earned Busch a stern warning from NASCAR to "settle down" and to "get off the No. 7 car."

Through just one heat race, it appears Bowman Gray has retained its wild side for the Cup Series field.
