It did not take long for Filip Chytil to fit right in with his new team. Sunday night the former New York Ranger scored his first goal as a member of the Vancouver Canucks.
The 25-year-old, who was traded from the Big Apple to Canada's Pacific coast on Friday, slotted home an impressive goal against the Detroit Red Wings to even the score at 2-2 in the third period.

Chytil's impressive stick-handling on his score was just a small demonstration of the skills Vancouver desired in return for one of its biggest talents.
He was part of the blockbuster deal that sent J.T. Miller back to New York. Vancouver also received defenseman Victor Mancini and a 2025 first-round pick.
Sunday's goal was Chytil's 12th of the season and his 21st point, still well on pace to match or pass his career-high of 45 set during the 2022-23 season.
Vancouver will need his production to stay on the uptick if it wants to climb back up into a playoff spot in the Western Conference. The Canucks fell 3-2 in overtime despite Chytil's tally earning the team a crucial standings point.
