Another Scottie Scheffler winning streak is on the horizon

Scottie Scheffler made his 2025 debut at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, and although he didn't win, his performance should terrify the rest of the PGA Tour.

This marked Scheffler's first start since undergoing surgery for a puncture wound to his right hand. The World No. 1 suffered the gnarly injury while cooking Christmas dinner for his family, but it didn't affect him much in his return to the course.

Despite finishing T9, Scheffler led the field in strokes gained on approach at Pebble Beach (6.794). He also ranked sixth in greens in regulation (54/72), 26th in average driving distance (304.6 yards) and 22nd in strokes gained from putting (1.987).

The only issue for Scheffler was around the greens, where he lost 1.648 strokes to the field, but it was just his third time losing strokes from chipping in his last 18 starts. His feel around the greens will quickly return with more reps.

Other PGA Tour players couldn't have been thrilled to see Scheffler immediately re-establish himself as the best iron player in the world one month after suffering a hand injury. The American put up similar numbers when he won nine times in his last 16 starts last year, and his favorite stretch of the season has already arrived.

Scheffler heads to Arizona this week for the WM Phoenix Open, where he's won twice and finished T3 in the last three years. Then comes the Florida Swing, which Scheffler has dominated recently with back-to-back Players Championship victories and two wins in his last three trips to the Arnold Palmer Invitational. After that, he'll make a quick pit stop in his home state of Texas before heading to Augusta National for the Masters. You know, the tournament he's won twice in the last three seasons.

This stretch of the PGA Tour season is where Scheffler separates himself from the pack. The next few courses coming up emphasize approach play as much as any stop on the schedule, and they feature greens that don't hurt Scheffler in his weakest statistical category.

If last week was any indication, Scheffler is about to rip off another dominant stretch of wins leading up to the first major championship of 2025.
