Following the Iowa Hawkeyes' retirement ceremony for her jersey No. 22, Caitlin Clark took to social media to reflect on the "special" moment.

The Indiana Fever star, who had a legendary collegiate basketball career with the Hawkeyes, admitted that she felt "incredibly overwhelmed by the love and support from everyone."

As her number rose to the rafters of Carver-Hawkeye Arena, Clark's former teammates, friends and family were with her to witness the incredible moment. The Fever playmaker even shared a hug with her boyfriend, Connor McCaffery, who was there to celebrate the occasion.

Among the former teammates who also made the trip to Iowa despite her busy schedule was Kate Martin. The now-Golden State Valkyries guard, who's currently playing in the Unrivaled league in Miami, made sure she wouldn't miss the festivities.

Kate Martin's support for Caitlin Clark didn't end with just attending the event dedicated to her. In her post, she showed more love for her former Iowa teammate.

"So happy to be by your side," Martin wrote in the comment section. "Love ya."

While Clark and Martin are no longer teammates in the WNBA, it's clear they have maintained a close relationship.

It remains to be seen if they will be teammates again in the pros, although Clark did say she hopes to recruit Martin to the Fever in the future.
