The NFL offseason is quickly approaching, but with the recent news of massive blockbuster trades happening in the NBA, fans are beginning their speculation earlier than usual.
It's not just fans, either, as it appears at least one player is getting in on the action in recent days, too.
New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers has been sending out cryptic posts on X (three since Feb. 4) referencing a couple well-known players he might want to see as future teammates.
Nabers wrote the numbers nine and 10 with the ram emoji on Feb. 4, the day after Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp announced the team was going to trade him.

It's not entirely clear if Nabers was referencing Kupp (who wears No. 10) and quarterback Matthew Stafford (No. 9) in his post. But the No. 9 and ram emoji were posted twice more on Wednesday and Thursday.
And it is Nabers' legitimate X account, too. The Giants, NFL and several other prominent media members follow him and it's been tagged in official posts by the league and team.
Now, there's no evidence New York is exploring any sort of trade with Los Angeles and Nabers may be just having some fun online, especially in the wake of the NBA's Luka Doncic-Anthony Davis trade.
Nabers, more than anyone, is well aware of the Giants' problem at the quarterback position. The team owns the No. 3 overall pick in the upcoming draft and is expected to be in the mix for a rookie passer.
"If we decide to pick a rookie, in my eye I would want a vet to be in that same room with that rookie teaching him some stuff," Nabers told Pro Football Talk on Wednesday.
Stafford certainly would offer a solid veteran presence in New York, especially if the team picks a rookie quarterback at any point in the draft.
But any kind of blockbuster trade between the two teams is mere wishful thinking by an ambitious young WR at this point.
