Matthew Stafford's wife, Kelly, isn't thrilled the Los Angeles Rams want to trade one of the quarterback's closest friends.
On Monday , the Rams placed wide receiver Cooper Kupp on the trade block. This move has made Kelly Stafford wonder if the organization has the QB's best interest in mind and whether they should leave Los Angeles.
"My husband wants to win. He's not trying to put a team in a bad situation," Kelly Stafford said on a Thursday episode of her podcast (h/t The 33rd Team's Ari Meirov). "I will say that trading away Cooper? I guess I'm confused because we were one play away from going to the NFC championship. And I think if we go, we win. I have to be the dog in this situation. I want the respect for him he deserves. Yes, I love the city of L.A. With that being said ... I love an adventure."

In a Wednesday interview with CBS Sports , Matthew Stafford said he'll miss "being on the same team as [Kupp]" but didn't indicate he would request a trade.
On a Tuesday episode of the "Dan Patrick Show," Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer said he thinks L.A. may make the 16-year veteran available this offseason.
The Rams, however, don't have another viable starting QB. Backup QB Stetson Bennett has yet to throw a pass in a regular-season game, while fellow backup QB Jimmy Garoppolo is an unrestricted free agent.
Matthew Stafford and Kupp won Super Bowl LVI during the 2021-22 season, but the QB probably realizes WR Puka Nacua can now be his No. 1 target.
During the 2024 season, Nacua had 990 receiving yards in 11 games, while Kupp had 710 in 12 games.
Don't take Kelly Stafford's comments about her husband's future with the Rams too seriously. They seem like they could be bluster.
