It feels like miracle buzzer-beaters are happening nightly across college basketball.
On Thursday, Fairfield had just a mere second (1.1 seconds to be exact) to find an unlikely bucket or face overtime against MAAC-leading foe Marist.
Junior Deon Perry (19 points) received the inbounds pass from his teammate but nearly slipped, making any kind of run-and-shoot half-court heave unlikely. He decided to regain his balance and chuck the ball from a whopping 70-feet away and swished it.

The insane nothing-but-net heave earned Fairfield the 59-56 buzzer-beating win, upsetting the Red Foxes who, prior to the contest, sat in a three-way tie for first in the conference.
Thursday's loss was just Marist's second in conference play, dropping it to 16-4 and now third place in the MAAC.
Fairfield (9-14) don't entirely have too much to play for the remainder of the season but the miracle bucket was a signature moment for the program that will surely be repeated by fans and alumni for years to come.
