Watch: Eagles QB Jalen Hurts tosses 46-yard TD to WR DeVonta Smith

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts is proving he's still a key piece of their offense.

With the Eagles leading the Kansas City Chiefs 27-0 late in the third quarter of Super Bowl LIX on Sunday, Hurts dropped back and launched a 46-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver DeVonta Smith.

Through his first three starts this postseason, Hurts had not tossed a pass longer than 31 yards.

Although Hurts has led the Eagles to their second Super Bowl appearance in three years, he hasn't been Philadelphia's offensive engine.

In 15 regular-season starts during the 2024 season, Hurts averaged 193.5 passing yards per game, the second-lowest mark of his career. Meanwhile, Eagles RB Saquon Barkley rushed for 2,005 yards in 16 regular-season games.

Still, that doesn't mean Hurts is no longer one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. In his first five seasons with the Eagles, he has a 46-20 regular-season record and has thrown 85 touchdown passes.
