Entering the third period with a 2-1 lead in its 4 Nations Face-Off opener on Thursday, Team USA turned on the jets against Finland.
American forward Matthew Tkachuk decided to match his younger brother Brady's achievement in the first period, scoring just 14 seconds into the period to extend Team USA's lead to 3-1.
He joined his brother and father, Keith, on an illustrious list, becoming the fifth father-son duo in history to score in an NHL international tournament.

Just 11 seconds later, their teammate Jake Guentzel dented the net with his own goal and began the rout over Finland. It's tied for the fastest any team has scored consecutively at an NHL international tournament with the Americans at the 1991 Canada Cup (also against Finland).
But anything Matthew can do, Brady can do better apparently. The younger Tkachuk netted his second goal of the game roughly two minutes later.

The edge Brady held over his brother was short-lived, however. Matthew went on to score his second tally of the game later in the third period to put Team USA up 6-1.
The 4 Nations Face-Off replaced the traditional NHL All-Star competition this season, with the two teams that earn the most points in the round-robin playing in a championship game on Feb. 20.
