Watch: Magic's Mac McClung jumps over car in NBA Slam Dunk Contest

The NBA Slam Dunk Contest may not have the appeal it did at its peak, but Mac McClung of the Orlando Magic is doing his best to bring some of that back.

He entered Saturday as the reigning back-to-back winner of the competition, and he raised the bar with his first-round dunk.

He did so by jumping over a car.

Not only by jumping over a car, but by also jumping over the highest part of the car and grabbing the basketball out of the hands of a person that was sticking out of the sunroof.

If that description sounds insane, it is because it is insane. But it is also exactly what happened.

This is not the first time we have seen a car involved in this.

Blake Griffin jumped over a car back in 2011 but did so by jumping over the front-end of it. He did not jump over the highest point of it. McClung did. That alone makes it more impressive, even before you add in the element of grabbing the ball out of the hands of a person sticking out through the sunroof.
