Mac McClung leaves fans disappointed with latest comments

Mac McClung left fans disappointed on Saturday night with his latest comments.

The Orlando Magic G League player on Saturday won the Slam Dunk Contest for the third year in a row. He had four dunks that received a score of 50, which allowed him to top Stephon Castle for the win.

McClung is the first player to ever win the dunk contest three years in a row. He was asked after his victory at Chase Center in San Francisco, Calif., whether he would return in 2026.

“This might be it for me, but we’ll see. If they want me back bad enough, I’ll think about it,” McClung told Turner Sports’ Allie LaForce.

McClung has been a highlight of the competition the last few years. He doesn’t mess around and always nails his dunks on the first attempt. Simply said, he puts on a good show and is good for the competition.

But at what point might there be fatigue from the fans with seeing him every year? McClung seems to recognize that could be an issue, which is why he said his return would depend on the fan demand.

It’s hard to get tired of McClung when he makes such difficult dunks look easy. He jumped over a car on Saturday night, which was pretty awesome.
