Davante Adams reportedly 'intrigued' by idea of joining Raiders rival

Las Vegas Raiders fans may not have seen or heard the last of Davante Adams yet.

The star wide receiver’s tenure with the Raiders came to a tumultuous end in October, when the team traded him to the New York Jets for a third-round pick. The plan was to reunite Adams with former quarterback Aaron Rodgers and recapture the magic of years past. The move did not pan out, and with Rodgers confirmed to be gone and the team headed for yet another rebuild, Adams’ time with the Jets may already be over.

Should Adams find himself back on the open market, he has his eyes set on a few teams, one of which should concern the Raiders.

It is a possibility that Davante Adams plays for the Los Angeles Chargers in 2025

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, Adams expressed a desire to return to the West Coast, putting him in direct proximity to the Chargers and other teams.

“He will have options, and I’m told that he is intrigued by the West Coast,” Fowler said during an appearance on "SportsCenter" (h/t Bleacher Report). “You have teams like the Los Angeles Rams, Los Angeles Chargers, maybe San Francisco 49ers. He’s from the West Coast, so it’s a possibility he could end up there.”

With a little under $63.5 million in cap space currently, the Chargers have both the resources and the need to strike a deal with Adams.

The Chargers’ latest rebuild appears to be ahead of schedule, with the team making the postseason in their first season under head coach Jim Harbaugh. However, the humiliating loss to the Houston Texans in the wild-card round exposed a multitude of problems, one of them being a lack of depth at receiver. Signing Adams as a veteran complement to Ladd McConkey makes far too much sense for a team wanting weapons around Justin Herbert.

Whether the Chargers have mutual interest in Adams is still up for debate, but the serious need for help at the position means it is possible the Raiders will see their former star again very soon.
