76ers' nightmare season gets comical in blowout loss to Bulls

The Philadelphia 76ers are having a wretched season. Monday night, their play went from bad to cartoonish.

In the second quarter of the Sixers' 142-110 loss to the Chicago Bulls, forward David Roddy attempted a three-pointer and missed everything — except his teammate's head. The airball surprised center Adem Bona, who went down after the errant shot drilled him.

In the same quarter, Philadelphia's Ricky Council IV got a steal and on a fast break, took at least three steps before jumping and dumping the ball off, one of the more blatant traveling violation in a league that isn't particularly strict about the rule.

The Chicago Bulls came into this game with the Sixers having lost six straight games. They averaged 108.2 points during the losing streak, with their highest point total being 117. Monday, the Bulls had 115 points after three quarters.

When the Sixers weren't making "Shaqtin' A Fool" blunders, they were suffering from pure bad luck. Seconds into the third quarter, Guerschon Yabusele got fouled and had to leave the game due to an injury to both his eyes. Guard Quentin Grimes left the game with knee soreness.

In a season that's been full of low points, Monday night might represent the nadir for the 76ers. Losing games is one thing. Embarrassing themselves is another level of bad.
