Just 48 hours after getting trounced 6-1 by the Philadelphia Flyers, the Pittsburgh Penguins returned home and flipped the script with a dramatic overtime victory.
Down 3-0 in the second period, the Penguins clawed back to a 4-4 tie at the end of regulation to snatch at least a standings point. Led by captain Sidney Crosby and teammate Evgeni Malkin, the team emerged with the extra point and made NHL history in the process.
Malkin practically halted his skates on a dime and shook the lone Flyers defenseman trying to block his shot, immediately ripping the puck into the back of the net for his second goal of the game.

Malkin's four-point night tied him with Tampa Bay's Nikita Kucherov for the fourth-most such games among active players with 31. He now trails just Alexander Ovechkin (32), Connor McDavid (40) and Crosby (42).
Malkin and Crosby also made fresh NHL history, becoming the first duo to earn 400 wins when both record at least one point.
It's an impressive achievement not even the likes of Wayne Gretzky and Mark Messier, nor Ovechkin and Nicklas Backstrom achieved.
Pittsburgh is sitting at the bottom of the Metropolitan Division with little chance of making the playoffs, but moments like these add to the legacy of one of the greatest duos to take the ice.
