Travis Hunter has one goal in mind with 2025 NFL Draft approaching

Travis Hunter can play wide receiver or cornerback at the NFL level.

He did so at Colorado and won a Heisman Trophy playing both ways. He's not just some "gadget" guy. He's a true superstar who can make an impact on both sides of the field.

He's listed as a defensive back at the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine at Indianapolis this week, but he's also been very clear and open about his desire to play both sides of the ball. He revealed at the combine that teams have interviewed him for either position, but he really doesn't want to pigeonhole himself.

"I've been doing it for a long time, so I feel like I can keep doing it. That's not my job to figure it out. I'd like to play both. If they give me the opportunity to play both sides of the ball, I'll play both sides," Hunter said at the combine, according to Jeff Legwold of ESPN

Hunter doesn't want to be locked in on one side of the ball or the other, but he does want to be locked in to one draft slot. He clearly feels he's the best player in this draft, and he has his eyes set on going No. 1 overall once April 24 rolls around.

"That's super important,'' Hunter said of the possibility of going No. 1 overall. "That was one of my dreams, to go No. 1.''

For what it's worth, the Tennessee Titans currently control the first pick. They spent a second-round pick on quarterback Will Levis in 2023 and he doesn't seem to be the answer.

The Titans could absolutely use a quarterback and there are options in Miami's Cam Ward and Hunter's Colorado teammate, Shedeur Sanders.

It may be hard for the Titans to pass up on a do-everything player like Hunter, though. One would imagine a team that doesn't need a quarterback may also consider trading up to No. 1 overall to grab Hunter, but that would be one heck of a costly trade.

Either way, Hunter is likely going to be a star at the NFL level. Now the only question is where.
