Tyler Reddick wins pole for EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix

Tyler Reddick will lead the field to the green flag in Sunday's NASCAR Cup Series race at Circuit of the Americas.

Reddick won the pole for the EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix with a lap time of 1:38.08, beating 23XI Racing teammate Bubba Wallace to win the pole position. Reddick won at COTA in 2023.

Chase Elliott, Carson Hocevar and Daniel Suarez rounded out the top-five qualifiers, with Shane van Gisbergen, Kyle Larson, Kyle Busch, Ross Chastain and Todd Gilliland completing the top-10.

"I was worried I screwed his (Bubba Wallace) lap up," Reddick told Amazon Prime. "All in all, I think today threw us for a loop. The pace was nowhere what we thought it was going to be. Just glad today went the way that it did, it's going to be great track position for us tomorrow."

Most of the Cup Series field was taken aback by the extreme tire wear and fall-off present in the morning's practice sessions, which forced teams to make unexpected adjustments before qualifying.

The tire wear along with the repaved and reconfigured track should make for an intriguing race on Sunday.

The EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix at COTA will go green shortly after 3:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, with coverage on Fox, PRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio. William Byron is the defending winner.
