Watch: Penguins' Sidney Crosby passes Hall of Famer for 10th on all-time assists list

Pittsburgh Penguins center Sidney Crosby continues adding to his illustrious résumé.

In Pittsburgh's home game against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Sunday, Crosby passed Hall of Famer Gordie Howe for 10th all-time in assists. Late in the second period against Toronto, Crosby set up Penguins right winger Bryan Rust, giving Pittsburgh a 4-3 lead.

Crosby now has 1,050 assists in 1,333 games in 20 seasons with Pittsburgh. Howe, meanwhile, recorded 1,049 assists in 1,767 games in 26 seasons with the Detroit Red Wings and Hartford Whalers.

The Penguins lost to the Maple Leafs 6-5 in overtime. Crosby finished with one goal and two assists on 26 shifts.

Pittsburgh (24-29-10) has lost six of its last seven games and is eighth in the Metropolitan division. Still, the Penguins' underwhelming season shouldn't detract from another impressive year for Crosby, a three-time Stanley Cup Winner and eight-time All-Star.

Although he's 37, the future HOFer continues to show why he's one of the best players in league history. Through his first 60 games this season, Crosby ranked 21st in the league in points with 62 (18 goals and 44 assists).
