On Tuesday night, Devin Vassell delivered a historic performance as the San Antonio Spurs defeated the Brooklyn Nets 127-113. The 24-year-old guard poured in a career-high 37 points, including a career-best eight three-pointers, and added 11 rebounds, five assists, four steals and one block to cap off a dominant outing.
Vassell became the first player in Spurs history to record 35 points, 10 rebounds and five assists while hitting five or more shots from beyond the arc in a game. His all-around performance helped San Antonio shoot 54.7 percent from the field, as they made 18 three-pointers on the night.

Vassell’s scoring spree, along with his defensive contributions, played a key role in the Spurs controlling the tempo throughout the contest. Stephon Castle was another standout for San Antonio, contributing 17 points, while De'Aaron Fox and Keldon Johnson each added 15.
Chris Paul, who registered 11 points and seven assists, made history during the second quarter, sinking the 20,000th three-pointer in franchise history, and finished a perfect 3-of-3 from beyond the arc. The Spurs' impressive ball movement was highlighted by their 37 assists, making them the first team in NBA history to register 20 or more assists in 200 consecutive games. This feat places them ahead of the Indiana Pacers, who hold the second-longest streak at 150 consecutive games.
Bismack Biyombo, who signed a deal with the Spurs just hours before the game, contributed 13 points and 14 rebounds in a solid performance. His strong presence in the paint helped fill the gap left by the absence of Victor Wembanyama, who has been ruled out for the rest of the season due to a blood clot in his right shoulder. The Spurs dominated the interior, outscoring Brooklyn 62-40 in the paint.
Brooklyn, now on a five-game losing streak, was led by Cam Thomas, who scored 24 points. Cameron Johnson added 17, but the Nets struggled defensively, allowing the Spurs to shoot at will. The loss drops Brooklyn to 21-40, leaving it 2.5 games behind the 10th seed in the Eastern Conference. The Spurs, meanwhile, improved to 26-34, sitting 13th in the Western Conference.
