Tyler Lockett is set to become a free agent after the Seattle Seahawks informed him that he is being released on Wednesday, and there is a chance the veteran wide receiver could reunite with his former coach.
The move will save the Seahawks roughly $17M in salary cap space. While he had a down season in 2024, Lockett has said he intends to keep playing.
It remains to be seen how much interest Lockett will draw, but ESPN's Adam Schefter believes there is one "natural landing spot" for the 32-year-old wideout — Las Vegas.

The Raiders, of course, hired Pete Carroll as their new head coach during this offseason. Carroll previously spent 14 years as the head coach in Seattle. He was with the Seahawks when they drafted Lockett in the third round in 2015.
While Lockett fell behind both DK Metcalf and Jaxon-Smith Njigba on the depth chart in Seattle, he was still fairly productive with 49 catches for 600 yards and two touchdowns last season.
Lockett could be a good fit in Las Vegas due to his familiarity with Carroll. The Raiders still do not have a starting quarterback, but Lockett is the type of veteran who should be able to step in and work with anyone. It would not be a surprise if Carroll were open to a reunion.
