With reports suggesting Seahawks star wide receiver DK Metcalf has been granted permission to seek a trade, there should be no shortage teams interested in the two-time Pro Bowler.
Metcalf, 27, is now the latest wide receiver possibly on the move in an offseason full of teams looking to add another offensive weapon. Based on his age and experience, he's also now arguably the top receiver on the market.
While he did experience a dip in production in 2024, Metcalf still had 66 receptions for 992 yards and five touchdowns. He averaged 15 yards per catch, has reached 900 yards every season of his career and could be revitalized on a new team.
Based on Metcalf's value, it's possible an unexpected team ends up making the deal, so here are some teams flying under the radar to keep an eye on.
Jacksonville Jaguars
Even though Metcalf is hoping to land with a contender — the Jaguars are coming off a 4-13 season — adding a playmaking No. 1 receiver could help Trevor Lawrence get Jacksonville back on course.
To be fair to the Jaguars, their drop-off in 2024 coincided with Lawrence suffering a shoulder injury and playing in only 10 games. Prior to 2024, Jacksonville enjoyed back-to-back winning seasons and a playoff berth two seasons ago.
Lawrence had surgery in December and is expected to make a full recovery.
After trading Christian Kirk to the Texans, per ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Jaguars are thin at receiver and might be willing to go all-in on player like Metcalf to ensure they capitalize on Lawrence.
Carolina Panthers
Like Jacksonville, it might be difficult for Carolina to sell Metcalf on being able to win. But the Panthers can offer him one sales pitch that's tough to resist.
With almost $30 million in cap space, the Panthers would be in position to work out a new long-term deal. Since teams don't like to pay big money to aging players, Metcalf may see this as his last chance to truly cash in.
Buffalo Bills
Josh Allen managed to elevate a receiver room many thought was void of a true No. 1 after the departure of Stefon Diggs — and win an MVP. Despite Allen's heroics and the players like Khalil Shakir and rookie Keon Coleman stepping up, Buffalo still could use an experienced weapon to open up its offense even more.
The Bills wouldn't necessarily be as surprising as the other two, but they don't have the cap space flexibility (they're $8.6 million over the cap) to actually pull off a big trade.
The Bills are starving enough for a Super Bowl run that they may feel Metcalf is worth the effort and could finally shift the balance of AFC power their way.
Of course, the Steelers, Cowboys, Raiders and Patriots — teams often brought up for receivers — are very much in play as well.
