Once again, heartbreak is the name of the game for Justin Allgaier at Phoenix

Justin Allgaier can't seem to escape crushing losses at Phoenix Raceway.

A year ago, Allgaier blew a tire while leading with five laps to go. On Saturday, it was another occurrence out of his control that led to his defeat.

With four laps to go, Allgaier led Aric Almirola by just over a second. While Almirola was closing in on the 2024 Xfinity Series champion, Allgaier still had a relatively comfortable advantage.

That was until the caution flag flew for Nick Leitz, who crashed on the exit of turn four. Allgaier's advantage was wiped out, and the field was bunched together for an overtime restart.

When the field roared into turn one with two laps to go, Allgaier made his only major mistake of the afternoon, sliding up the track and into Almirola.

Allgaier only fell to fifth-place, but he was understandably frustrated on a day that could've yielded his first win of the 2025 season.

"I don't think you could've done anything differently," Allgaier told CW Sports. "Really proud of our team. To unload with the speed we had, race the way we did, I was really proud... I'd like to have that one back."

Allgaier led 129 laps and took home the Stage 2 victory, but once again, the Arizona desert denied him a champagne shower to quench his thirst.
