Aryna Sabalenka and Mirra Andreeva will contest the 2025 WTA Indian Wells final. The World No. 1 lost her previous title match at the desert in 2023. This is her third final of the season. She won in Brisbane but lost the Australian Open final. Andreeva will play in her second WTA 1000 final in as many weeks after lifting the Dubai title. Who will reign supreme in the desert?

WTA Indian Wells Final Prediction

Aryna Sabalenka vs Mirra Andreeva

Head-to-head: Sabalenka 4-1 Andreeva

Sabalenka avenged her loss to Madison Keys in the Australian Open final by delivering an emphatic and ruthless performance in Friday’s semifinal. The Belarusian needed only 47 minutes to power past Keys 6-0 6-1 for her 16th match win of the season. Before that, she defeated McCartney Kessler, Lucia Bronzetti, and British lucky loser Sonay Kartal in straight sets. This is her second career final at the BNP Paribas Open (she lost the 2023 title match against Elena Rybakina).

Andreeva, for her part, is coming off another spectacular win over World No. 2 and defending champion Iga Swiatek. Andreeva ended the Pole’s 10-match winning run in Indian Wells and extended her own streak to 11 victories. This fantastic run includes the biggest title of her young career in Dubai. Andreeva had beaten Elina Svitolina, former champion Elena Rybakina, and the in-form Clara Tauson without dropping a set earlier in the tournament. Her second WTA 1000 final comes just a few weeks from her first.

Andreeva will leave the tournament with a new career-high ranking (up to 8th as a runner-up and 6th if she wins the title). Despite her meteoric rise, this remains a particularly tricky matchup for the 17-year-old sensation, who has lost twice to Sabalenka this season (trails 1-4 in the head-to-head). That doesn’t mean she’s incapable of finding a solution, but Sabalenka forces opponents into submission with her suffocating pace and powerful shots. It is something Andreeva will need time to strategically deal with as her game continues to evolve. For now, Sabalenka’s offense will most likely carry her to her first Indian Wells title.

Prediction: Sabalenka in 3
