Giants predicted to land quarterback not named Aaron Rodgers or Russell Wilson

The New York Giants have been heavily in the NFL rumor mill when it comes to the quarterback position. Both Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson have been connected a lot to the Giants.

While both players would offer New York a major upgrade from what it was working with in 2024, there is a chance that the Giants might not end up with either of them.

Rodgers is seemingly waiting on the Minnesota Vikings to make an offer. Wilson has met with the Cleveland Browns, and it seems likely that the Pittsburgh Steelers would have interest in trying to re-sign him if they can't land Rodgers.

While the Browns have also recently received a massive QB prediction, a new prediction has been made that would see New York add a quarterback not named Rodgers or Wilson.

If the Giants don't get either veteran quarterback, who could they turn to? Another free agent or the NFL Draft?

James Foster of The 33rd Team has made a new prediction for New York. He has the Giants simply taking Colorado Buffaloes star quarterback Shedeur Sanders at No. 3 overall in the 2025 NFL draft.

"If the Giants didn’t have such a desperate need at quarterback, I could envision Sanders falling. But Joe Schoen needs to save his job and won’t make it to the next offseason if he doesn’t find an answer at the most important position," Foster wrote. "Sanders is a surgical pocket passer with pinpoint accuracy, but his poor pocket presence and middling physical traits could limit his upside."

Sanders is coming off of a 2024 season with Colorado where he threw for 4,134 yards, 37 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He also scored four touchdowns on the ground.

Being the son of NFL legend Deion Sanders has helped his name gain notoriety, but Sanders has played well throughout his college career.

Landing in New York is growing as a very possible scenario.
