Shohei Ohtani's still got it.
On Wednesday, MLB's best player picked up where he left off during his 2024 MVP season, hitting his first home run of the season against the Cubs (0-1) in the Tokyo Series to give the Dodgers (1-0) a 6-2 advantage in the top of the fifth inning.

Batting leadoff, the hit was Ohtani's first of the game and third in two Tokyo Series games. In Tuesday's opener, Ohtani was 2-of-5 at the plate, hitting a double and scoring two runs.
Cubs manager Craig Counsell elected to intentionally walk Ohtani in his subsequent at-bat.
Ohtani has won three MVPs in the past four seasons. In 2024, he became the first designated hitter to be named MVP. He also joined legendary Hall of Famer Frank Robinson as the only two players to receive MVP honors in both the National and American Leagues.
In his first season with the Dodgers, Ohtani had a career-high .310 batting average and led the league in home runs (54), runs batted in (130) and OPS (1.036).
The two-way star is expected to return to the mound in May after last pitching in August 2023, and he's already in midseason form at the plate.
If his impressive start to the season in Tokyo is any indication, this year, we might get the best version of Ohtani yet.
