Kevin Harvick was never someone who hesitated to share what was on his mind throughout his NASCAR racing career. It didn't matter if it was another driver or the sanctioning body, the former driver wouldn't sugarcoat what he was thinking. That approach hasn’t changed since he moved up to the Fox broadcast booth as an analyst in 2024.
On Friday, the future NASCAR Hall of Famer was serving as a guest analyst in the booth with Jamie Little and Michael Waltrip during Truck Series practice and qualifying, in preparation for the evening’s drivers-only broadcast when he’ll be the lead announcer.
During the practice session when Xfinity Series regular Brandon Jones appeared on track in the No. 1 truck with Kingsford Charcoal as the sponsor, Waltrip said it reminded him of Stacy Compton, who had the sponsor adorning his Xfinity car in the 2005-06 seasons.
Later during the broadcast when Jones returned to the track for his qualifying run, the topic of conversation came up again.
“Who'd you think of?” Jamie Little asked Waltrip for his memory of Kingsford as a sponsor.
“I thought of Stacey Compton. Who'd you have?” he returned the question to Little.
“Marcos Ambrose. Who'd you have Kevin?” she asked Harvick.

“I thought of Mike Dillon, but it's still rolling, so,” the former Stewart-Haas Racing said.
“No damage so far,” Waltrip added with a laugh.
“There's no damage on it, so it can't be Mike,” Harvick followed up.
In Dillon’s career, he ran a total of 158 races between the three top NASCAR series, including three top fives in his five full-time seasons in the Xfinity Series.
