As good as Kyle Larson is at Homestead-Miami Speedway, he has a tendency to make big mistakes in crucial moments at the 1.5-mile facility.
With 45 laps to go in Friday's Baptist Health 200, Larson was running third. He attempted to pass second-place driver Layne Riggs entering turn 1 but overcooked his corner entry, sending his No. 07 Chevrolet Silverado spinning after making slight contact with Riggs.
Pretty impressive. Kyle Larson sure can spin with style. pic.twitter.com/HADyb5B0iI

In 2023, Larson was racing Ryan Blaney for the win in the NASCAR Cup Series playoff race at Homestead when he hit the sand barrels at the entry of pit road as he attempted to make a green-flag pit stop. In October, Larson was once again racing Blaney for the win in a Cup Series playoff race at Homestead but went around after forcing a three-wide move.
Larson was one of the favorites to win Friday's race but now faces a near-impossible path to victory lane. Larson, a full-time driver in the Cup Series, will also race in Saturday's 300-mile Xfinity Series race at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
