Chase Briscoe earns much-needed fourth-place finish at Homestead

Chase Briscoe needed a good run at Homestead-Miami Speedway in the worst way.

Briscoe entered Sunday's Straight Talk Wireless 400 20th in the NASCAR Cup Series points standings five races into the 2025 season. Aside from a pole and a fourth-place finish in the Daytona 500, the No. 19 team hadn't had much luck to speak of.

On Sunday, however, Briscoe put together his most complete race yet at Joe Gibbs Racing.

After qualifying fourth on Saturday, Briscoe finished third in Stage 1. He faded to 12th in Stage 2, but when Stage 3 rolled around, the No. 19 Toyota Camry turned into a rocket.

Briscoe was running as high as third in the race's closing laps and ended up finishing fourth after race winner Kyle Larson passed him en route to the lead.

"It was just what we needed as a race team," Briscoe told Fox Sports regarding the race.

Briscoe now sits 13th in the Cup Series standings, jumping seven spots after Sunday's strong performance. Briscoe is five points above the playoff cut line six races into the 2025 season.

A good run at Miami could be the stepping stone the No. 19 team needs in order to get back into winning form as Briscoe embarks on his maiden voyage with Joe Gibbs Racing.
