There are two things NHL fans love from goalies beyond highlight-reel saves. One of them is the occasional goalie goal. The other is the occasional goalie fight.
We have already seen a couple of goalie goals this season, but we have not yet seen a goalie fight.
That almost changed on Sunday night when Boston Bruins goalie Jeremy Swayman and Los Angeles Kings goalie Darcy Kuemper wanted to rumble at center ice.
They were ready. They were willing. And the equipment was flying off. But before they could get into it, the on-ice officials successfully thwarted the fight, much to the anger of the Los Angeles fans.

So close.
Unfortunately for Swayman and the Bruins, that was the only close thing about this game, as they were on the losing end of a 7-2 decision where Swayman stopped just 16 of 23 shots on goal.
This has been a miserable season for both Swayman and the Bruins. They are going to miss the playoffs, while Swayman has failed to impress after signing a huge contract over the offseason. Maybe all of the frustration finally boiled over here.
