Signs continue to point toward Cam Ward going No. 1 in 2025 NFL Draft

As of Monday, FanDuel Sportsbook gives Ward (6-foot-2, 219 pounds) the best odds (-750) to go No. 1 overall in the draft.

In a story published on March 21, ESPN's Jordan Reid noted the Titans were considering trading the No. 1 pick. However, they must have fallen in love with Ward. 

"The feeling at the combine was that Tennessee was aggressively shopping the No. 1 pick, but that sentiment has cooled off a bit," wrote Reid. "Now signs are trending toward the Titans drafting Ward at the top of the draft, and many sources around the league are preparing for that outcome." 

In his scouting report, NFL.com's Lance Zierlein noted Ward must improve his ball placement and make fewer cross-field throws, which can end in interceptions. 

Ward may not be a perfect prospect, but the Titans probably feel they can't roll with QB Will Levis again in 2025. In his second season with the franchise, he went 2-10 in 12 starts and threw 12 picks. 

The free-agency options aren't appealing, either. Super Bowl-winning QBs Joe Flacco and Russell Wilson remain available. However, Flacco is 40, and Wilson is 36. 

Ward's likely the best choice in a class that's not considered deep at QB. He won the 2024 Davey O'Brien Award as college football's best QB after tossing 39 touchdown passes in 13 games.  

More importantly, he seems like a prospect who could galvanize Tennessee's offense, which finished 27th in the league in points scored (18.3) in 2024.
