Cam Ward had an opportunity on Monday to show teams that he is worthy of being the first quarterback taken in the 2025 NFL Draft, and there were plenty of moments where he did a great job of stating his case.
Ward worked out in front of NFL scouts and executives at the University of Miami's pro day on Monday. The quick release and outstanding arm strength that made him a Heisman Trophy finalist were on full display, as Ward really shined during passing drills.
One particular throw provided a glimpse into the type of big-play ability Ward could bring to the NFL team that drafts him. Ward rolled to his left and made an off-balance pass that traveled about 50 yards in the air. He hit his receiver in stride.

Tennessee Titans fans had to have loved seeing that.
Of course, it should be noted that Zach Wilson made an almost identical throw at his pro day prior to being drafted No. 2 overall by the New York Jets four years ago.

It is too early to label Wilson a draft bust, but it would be fair to say the 25-year-old's NFL career is not off to a great start.
Ward certainly has all the physical tools needed to succeed at the professional level. His stock seems to be rising at the right time, and there is a growing sense that the Titans plan to take him first overall.
If Ward can make throws like the ones we saw on Monday when he has defenders in his face, the best is yet to come for him.
