Stefon Diggs drops hint about why he signed with Patriots

The New England Patriots are hoping Mike Vrabel can help reverse the franchise's recent misfortunate, and it looks like one of the team's marquee free-agent signings is happy to be working with the head coach.

Stefon Diggs agreed to a three-year, $69M contract with the Patriots on Tuesday night. Money was likely the primary motivation behind the decision, but Diggs will also have an opportunity to play with an exciting young quarterback in Drake Maye.

If social media is any indicator, the coach has Diggs' stamp of approval, too. On Thursday, Diggs shared a photo on his Instagram story that showed Vrabel during the former linebacker's playing days in New England.

Many people feel Diggs' post showed that Vrabel was influential in getting the four-time Pro Bowl wideout to sign with the Patriots. At the very least, it suggests Diggs is a fan of his new coach.

Vrabel won three Super Bowls as a player with the Patriots. He was a leader both on and off the field. That experience served him well when he coached the Tennessee Titans for six seasons and led them to the playoffs three times, including an AFC Championship appearance.

Not much has gone right for the Patriots over the past two seasons, but they finally appear to have a true No. 1 wide receiver. Vrabel may have played a significant role in addressing that glaring need.
