Austin Reaves participated in a baby gender reveal during his Los Angeles Lakers’ game in Indiana on Wednesday night.

The Lakers beat the Pacers 120-119 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. Reaves was second on his team with 24 points scored in 36 minutes. He added five assists in the boxscore, but had an extra one that didn’t show up on the stat sheet.

Reaves wore white shoes with pink trim and pink laces during the game. The color of the shoes were used to signal what the sex of the baby Reaves’ brother is having, which is a girl.

Austin’s brother Spencer saw the shoes and responded via social media site X.

“Appreciate you! We didn’t know Austin would be so pumped to do this. He’s known for weeks. Maybe he got Luka on board as well with his shoes tonight,” Spencer Reaves wrote on X.

Spencer was referring to Luka Doncic, who has been wearing pink shoes.

That was pretty cool of Austin to participate in the gender reveal. It would have looked bad if they lost, but it ended up fine since the Lakers won.
