Daniel Hemric scores first NASCAR Truck Series win with late surge at Martinsville

For the first time since he won the 2021 Xfinity Series championship, Daniel Hemric returned to victory lane in Friday night's Boys and Girls Club of the Blue Ridge 200 at Martinsville Speedway.

Hemric cleared teammate Tyler Ankrum off Turn 4 with four laps to go and held on to win by 0.544 seconds. That came 10 laps after Ty Majeski and Kaden Honeycutt spun from the lead with 14 laps to go.

It is Hemric's first career Truck Series win as he competes in his first full-time season in the series since 2016. Hemric also clinches the $50,000 bonus as part of the Triple Truck Challenge, which financially rewards drivers for their performance on the track.

"We found a way there at the end," Hemric told Fox Sports. "I wanted to race Tyler (Ankrum), obviously we've got a long season ahead, wanted to race him as clean as I could. I've walked out of here twice thinking there's a missing spot in my dining room for a clock, so it's cool to finally get one here."

The clock Hemric is referring to is the grandfather clock that is given to the race winners at Martinsville, a tradition that dates back to 1964 when NASCAR Hall of Famer Fred Lorenzen became the first driver to receive it.

For the second week in a row, Corey Heim swept the stages and appeared to have the race in hand after leading a race-high 149 laps. That was until his left rear tire went down with 32 laps to go after contact on the restart with Majeski and Honeycutt.

Ankrum, Jake Garcia, Chandler Smith and Ben Rhodes rounded out the top five, with Heim, Andres Perez, Rajah Caruth, Stewart Friesen and Lawless Alan completing the top 10.

Other notable finishers include Majeski in 13th, Cup Series regular William Byron in 14th, Toni Breidinger in 24th, Matt Crafton in 27th, Grant Enfinger in 29th and Corey Day in 32nd.

The sixth race of the 2025 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season will take place at Bristol Motor Speedway on April 11. The 250-lap race will go green shortly after 7:30 p.m. ET, with coverage on FS1, NRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
